Adding or Updating My Avatar

The Pocket Casts app integrates with a service known as Gravatar to enable users to add profile pictures within the app. If your Pocket Casts account email is linked to a Gravatar account, the app will use its associated Gravatar avatar.

With version 7.70 of the Pocket Casts mobile app, you can add a profile picture right from within the app:

1. Navigate to Profile > Account > Change Avatar
2. Tap on the Continue button.
3. You should receive an email with a verification code — copy and paste the code into the Gravatar login form and click “Continue”.
4. Once you’re logged in, you can upload an image or use your device’s camera to take one.
5. Once you’ve added your new avatar image, you can safely close the browser view/window.

If you’re using Pocket Casts on another platform or an older version of the mobile app and you do not yet have a Gravatar account, you can add a profile picture by following these steps on the Gravatar site:

1. Create an account on the Gravatar site and upload your first avatar there according to this guide: How to Sign Up for an Account.
2. It’s important to ensure that the email address you use for Pocket Casts aligns with the one you use in Gravatar. This is necessary for the profile picture to show up on your Pocket Casts account.
3. If you need to add your Pocket Casts account email to your Gravatar account, you can follow this Gravatar guide: Multiple emails.

With version 7.70 of the Pocket Casts mobile app, you can update your profile picture right from within the app:

1. Navigate to Profile > Account > Change Avatar
2. If you’re not already logged in, you can follow the steps to do so.
3. You can select the option to upload an image, use your device’s camera to take one, or click on the … menu on an existing image to manage it.
4. Once you’ve added your new avatar image, you can safely close the browser view/window.

If you’re using Pocket Casts on another platform or an older version of the mobile app, you can update your Pocket Casts profile picture by following these steps on the Gravatar site:

1. Log in to your Gravatar account.
2. Under “My Profile,” select “Avatars.”
3. Under “Choose email,” make sure your Pocket Casts account email is selected.
4. Assign or upload the image you would like to associate with your Pocket Casts account.
