Keeping Pocket Casts up to date ensures you have the latest features, bug fixes, and performance improvements. Pocket Casts cannot be updated from within the app — updates are managed through your device’s app store.
- Open the App Store
- Tap your profile icon at the top right
- Pull down to refresh the list of available updates
- If an update for Pocket Casts is available, tap Update
- Open the Google Play Store
- Tap your profile icon
- Tap Manage apps & device
- If an update for Pocket Casts is available, tap Update
The web app at pocketcasts.com/discover updates automatically — no action is needed.
The Windows and macOS desktop apps are updated through their respective app stores (Microsoft Store or Mac App Store).
To see which version of Pocket Casts you currently have installed:
- Tap Profile
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon
- Your app version is displayed at the bottom of the Settings screen
If you are experiencing a bug or crash, updating to the latest version is a good first troubleshooting step. Many issues are resolved in newer releases.
