This support article details the current pricing structure for Pocket Casts Plus and answers common questions related to pricing. The rates specified are base prices and do not yet include any taxes and fees applicable to your region.
The following are the changes made in the price of a yearly subscription to Pocket Casts Plus over the years:
- On September 18, 2019, the subscription was introduced at a price of USD 9.99.
- On January 5, 2023, the subscription cost was increased to USD 14.99.
- On April 8, 2023, the subscription cost was raised to USD 39.99 for new subscribers, while existing subscribers continued to pay a legacy rate of USD 14.99.
If you see a price higher than USD 39.99, our payment processors are likely charging you taxes and fees based on your location.
The following are the changes made in the price of a monthly subscription to Pocket Casts Plus over the years:
- On September 18, 2019, the subscription was introduced at a price of USD 0.99.
- On January 5, 2023, the subscription cost was increased to USD 1.49.
- On April 8, 2023, the subscription cost was raised to USD 3.99 for new subscribers, while existing subscribers continued to pay a legacy rate of USD 1.49.
If you see a price higher than USD 3.99, our payment processors are likely charging you taxes and fees based on your location.
Depending on your location, our payment processors may charge you taxes and fees in addition to our base rates.

The Apple App Store may also charge taxes on Pocket Casts Plus subscriptions depending on your country.

If you see a subscription rate that’s higher than the base prices we have listed here, it will most likely be due to taxes and fees. Please refer to Taxes and Fees.
If you subscribed to Pocket Casts Plus before April 8, 2023, you qualify for our legacy rates:
- USD 1.49 for monthly subscriptions
- USD 14.99 for yearly subscriptions
If you believe you are seeing the wrong renewal price for your subscription, please do reach out, preferably from within the app. The first reply to your email may ask you to post on the Pocket Casts forum, but please just reply to the email again.
Here are some known issues you may be affected by:
- Google Play Store showing and charging annual subscribers the wrong rates
- Visual glitch on the Apple App Store where the wrong rates are shown, but the correct rates are charged
- If auto-renewal is disabled on a subscription, any continuation past the original billing period is detected as a brand-new subscription
