Pocket Casts allows you to refresh an individual podcast to check for new episodes. This feature is supported in the Pocket Casts web/desktop player and version 7.83 or later of Pocket Casts for Android and iOS.
Refreshing a podcast can be helpful if there is an issue with the podcast’s feed — if you re-start a subscription to a private, paid, or members-only podcast, for example.
To refresh the episode list from the Pocket Casts app on Android or iOS, navigate to the Podcasts tab and tap on the podcast you’d like to update to open the podcast’s details screen.
From the podcast’s details screen you can pull down to refresh or tap on the three dot menu 
and tap Refresh Episode List

To refresh the episode list from the Pocket Casts web / desktop player, navigate to Podcasts and click on the podcast you’d like to update to open the podcast’s details screen.
Tap on the podcast to open its details page. Tap the three dots 
next to the episode search bar. Select Refresh Episode List from the menu. Wait a few moments for the refresh to complete
