Pocket Casts supports Google Assistant voice commands to control playback.

Using Voice Commands With Google Assistant

To use voice commands with Google Assistant, please follow these steps:

  1. Trigger Google Assistant in one of the following ways:
    • Long press the home button on your device, or
    • Say “Okay, Google.”
  2. Use one of the following commands:
    • “Play [podcast name] on Pocket Casts”
    • “Play on Pocket Casts”
    • “Pause Playback”
    • “Resume Playback”
    • “Resume playing Pocket Casts” – resumes playing the latest episode on your Up Next queue

Note: The Google Assistant is available on select devices running Android 7 or above. Most of the commands above should also work with the old Google Now search box that comes with phones before that time.
