Web Player Settings

In this guide

The Web player offers several settings to customize your listening experience at https://pocketcasts.com/settings.

Pocket Casts Web player allows you to customize the skip forwards and skip backwards setting. By default skip forward is set to 45 seconds and skip backward to 10 seconds.

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Playback
  4. Edit the Skip forwards and Skip backwards options:
    • Skip forwards to the number of seconds to be skipped forward
    • Skip backwards to the number of seconds to be skipped backward

To see how much time skipping has saved you, open Profile > Stats.

These Skip settings are specific to the Web Player. They will not be synced with mobile app settings.

Additional settings in Playback can be toggled on or off depending on user preferences. These include:

  • Recommendations: When nothing is playing our team of robots will recommend episodes.
  • Autoplay: If you start an episode while Up Next is empty, Autoplay will continue playing episodes from that podcast or list.
  • Intelligent Playback Resumption: If on, Pocket Casts will go back a little in episodes you resume so you can catch up more comfortably.
  • Media buttons skip by chapter: If on and the episode has chapters, you will go to the next/previous chapters when you skip using keyboard shortcuts or keyboard media skip buttons.
  • Show archived episodes by default: When this setting is on, archived episodes will be shown by default if a podcast doesn’t have its own setting.
