Pocket Casts is available on iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, the web, Windows and macOS desktops, Apple TV, Apple Watch, Wear OS smartwatches, CarPlay, Android Auto, Android Automotive, Sonos, and Amazon Alexa. This page lists each platform, where to get Pocket Casts for it, and what you need to run it.
The Apps page of the Web Player also provides direct download links for the mobile and desktop apps.
Phones and tablets
- iPhone and iPad (iOS) — download from the App Store. Requires iOS 17 or later.
- Android phones and tablets — download from the Google Play Store. Requires Android 7.0 or later.
Web and desktop
- Web Player — open pocketcasts.com/play in your browser. Nothing to install.
- Windows and macOS desktop apps — download from the Downloads page.
The web and desktop apps are available to all Pocket Casts users, including those on a free plan, though some features require a Plus or Patron subscription. See Web and Desktop Apps for more.
TV
- Apple TV (tvOS) — download from the App Store on your Apple TV. Requires Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K running tvOS 26 or later. See Pocket Casts for Apple TV.
There is no Pocket Casts app for Android TV. To listen through an Android TV, use Chromecast from your phone or tablet instead. See also Playback on TV & External Speakers.
Smartwatches
- Apple Watch (watchOS) — install from the App Store on your Apple Watch, or from the Watch app on your iPhone. Requires watchOS 10 or later. Controlling playback on your iPhone works on any plan; listening on the watch on its own (the Watch play source) requires Pocket Casts Plus and an Apple Watch Series 3 or later. See Apple Watch.
- Wear OS smartwatches (Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch, and others) — install from the Play Store on the watch itself. Requires Wear OS 2, 3, or 4, and Pocket Casts Plus or Patron. See Wear OS.
In the car
- CarPlay — included with the iOS app. Connect your iPhone to a CarPlay-equipped car; there is nothing extra to install. See CarPlay.
- Android Auto — included with the Android app. Connect your Android phone to your car; there is nothing extra to install. See Android Auto.
- Android Automotive — built into some vehicles. Pocket Casts installs on the car itself and works without your phone. See Android Automotive.
Speakers and voice assistants
- Sonos — add Pocket Casts as a service in the Sonos app, then link your Pocket Casts account. See Sonos Integration.
- Amazon Alexa — install the Pocket Casts skill from the Alexa app and link your account. The skill is available in English for the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. See Amazon Alexa Integration.
- Chromecast — cast from the Pocket Casts mobile apps to a Chromecast or Chromecast built-in device. See Chromecast.
Device support changes
As of Pocket Casts 8.15, iOS 16 and watchOS 9 are no longer supported. The iOS app now requires iOS 17 or later, and the Apple Watch app requires watchOS 10 or later. If you’re on an older version (for example, iOS 16), you’ll need to update your device to install or update Pocket Casts.
