In addition to podcast or show artwork, some podcasts also use episode-specific artwork. This support article discusses how you can see episode artwork in Pocket Casts.

Support for episode artwork is available on the following platforms:
- Web and desktop apps
- Android app
- iOS app
- Wear OS
- Android Auto
- Android Automotive
- CarPlay
Episode artwork is not supported in the Apple Watch app.
Display Episode Artwork in the Web and Desktop Apps
The web and desktop apps will always display episode artwork if it is available. There is no setting you need to enable. Consequently, there is no setting to turn the feature off.
Display Episode Artwork in the Mobile Apps
You can make episode artwork show up in the iOS or Android mobile apps by following these steps:
- In the Pocket Casts app, tap “Profile.”
- Tap “Settings,” which is the cog/gear icon on the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Tap “Appearance.”
- Make sure “Use episode artwork” is enabled. You’ll know that “Use episode artwork” is enabled if the toggle next to it is blue.
- The app will now display episode artwork whenever it is available.
Where Episode Artwork Comes From
When episode artwork is displayed, Pocket Casts loads it from one of two sources, in this order:
- Show notes image URL (from the podcast’s feed). If the podcast publisher specifies an episode-level image in the RSS feed, Pocket Casts will load that image. This is the preferred source, and feed-based episode artwork is supported.
- Embedded artwork in the audio file. If the feed doesn’t include an episode image, Pocket Casts falls back to artwork embedded in the audio file itself (for example, in the ID3 tags).
If neither source is available, the app displays the show’s main podcast artwork instead. Because episode artwork depends on what the podcast creator provides, availability will vary from podcast to podcast and episode to episode.
