If your account was created either with “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple,” you may run into some Pocket Casts integrations that ask you for an account password. You can set an account password by entering your email address into our “Forgot password?”
Do note that if you’re using Apple’s Private Relay email service, you’ll want to ensure you’re entering your Private Relay email.
Pocket Casts supports signing in with your Google account (“Continue with Google,” also called “Sign in with Google” or “Log in with Google”) on Android devices, the web player, the Mac and Windows desktop apps, and Wear OS watches. It is not available in the iOS app (iPhone and iPad).
If you’d like to sync or link an existing Pocket Casts account with your Google account, the email address on your Pocket Casts account must match your Google account’s email address. Once they match, selecting “Continue with Google” (or “Log in with Google” on a Wear OS watch) signs you in to that account.
If your existing account uses a different email address, you can change your account email address to your Google email from Profile > Account > Change email address. Note that you cannot change it to an email address that is already used by another Pocket Casts account; that account would need to be deleted first.
Selecting “Continue with Google” when no Pocket Casts account uses your Google email address creates a brand-new, empty account. If you signed in with Google and your podcasts are missing, log out and log back in with your original email address and password.
If your Pocket Casts account was created using “Continue with Apple” and you want to sign in on an Android device, you can add a password to your account by entering your email in the “Forgot password?” form. To log in using the Android app tap “Log in” and enter your email and password.
Changing the email address on an account created with “Continue With Google” or “Continue With Apple”
If your account was created either with “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple,” you can follow these steps to change your account email address:
- Set an account password by entering your email address into our “Forgot password?” form.
- After you’ve set an account password, log out of the app.
- Log back in using the “Log in” button and not “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple.”
- Sign in with your email address and password.
- Change your account email address from Profile > Account > Change email address.
After following the above steps successfully, please remember to keep logging in to Pocket Casts with the “Log in” button instead of “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple.” This way, we can prevent a new sync account from being created for you, especially if you might be using Apple’s Private Relay email service.
If you have an existing Pocket Casts account that uses log in with email and password, but would like to use Apple ID instead, you can select “Continue with Apple” to sign in.
The email address for the existing account and the Apple ID must match. The Apple ID must not have Apple’s Hide My Email enabled. If the Apple ID is using a private relay email address you can change the email address for the Pocket Casts account by following these steps.
