Multi-select is a feature that allows you to select and apply actions to episodes in bulk. It’s very useful for managing your podcast episodes.
Here are places in the app where you can use multi-select:
- A podcast’s page
- A playlist
- Profile > Downloads
- Profile > Files
- Profile > Starred
- Profile > Listening History
- Bookmarks tabs
- Up Next queue
How to activate Multi-Select
You can activate multi-select by long-pressing on an episode. Long-pressing on the same episode again will bring up options to “Select all above” or “Select all below.” However, in the Up Next queue, the long-pressing will on an episode will move it to the top of the list and start playback. See “Multi-Select in the Up Next Queue” for information about using this feature in Up Next.
Once you’re done selecting episodes, you can apply the following actions:
- Download/Remove download
- Archive/Unarchive
- Mark as played/Mark as unplayed
- Play next
- Play last
- Remove from Up Next (takes the selected episodes out of your queue)
- Star/Unstar
- Add to Playlist
- Share (only if one episode is selected)
- Delete (only available in Profile > Files)
Multi-Select in the Up Next Queue
In the Up Next queue, tap the multi-select icon at the top right of the screen to activate multi-select. Tap Select All to select all episodes in the Up Next queue. To select an individual episode tap the episode title. An episode is selected when there is a check-mark icon next to the listing.
After selecting an episode in your queue, long-pressing on it will bring up options to “Select all above” or “Select all below.” You can also click the three-dot icon to see more actions which include:
- Move to top
- Move to bottom
- Remove
- Download
- Mark as played
- Archive
- Add to Playlist
- Star/Unstar
- Share (only if one episode is selected)
You can star or unstar several episodes at once from the Up Next queue: select the episodes, then choose Star Episodes or Unstar Episodes from the multi-select action bar. Episodes you have starred show a star indicator in the Up Next queue, so you can tell at a glance which queued episodes are starred.
Customize Multi-Select Action Bar
While in multi-select mode, you can customize the toolbar with your two most used actions. To view more actions, and customize the order of actions in the menu, tap the three-dot menu 
icon. With multi-select active tap the three dot menu in the multi-select toolbar > select Edit and hold the ≡ handle to drag and drop the actions to your preferred location > tap Done to save the changes.
FAQ
Can I move episodes to a Playlist using multi-select?
On Android (as of version 8.5), you can add multiple episodes to a manual Playlist using multi-select. Select the episodes, then tap Add to Playlist in the multi-select action bar — you may need to tap the three-dot menu to find it — then select which Playlist you’d like to add them to.
On iOS you can do the same: select the episodes, then choose Add to Playlist in the multi-select action bar — you may need to tap the three-dot menu to find it. On the web player, adding several episodes to a Playlist at once is not yet possible. You can add individual episodes by swiping left on an episode and tapping the plus button 
, then selecting the Playlist and tapping Done.
