A network in Pocket Casts is a curated group of podcasts that come from the same publisher — for example Maximum Fun, Pushkin Industries, or Vox Media Podcast Network. Opening a network shows you everything that publisher makes in one place, so you can browse a whole catalog instead of searching for each show by name.
Networks are free to browse. A network is not a subscription and not a paid tier — you don’t buy, join, or sign up for one. You still follow individual shows, exactly as you would anywhere else in the app.
Availability: Networks are available on iPhone, iPad, and Android in Pocket Casts 8.21 or later, and in the web player. On Apple TV, networks appear in search only, as described below.
Every network opens to the same page, no matter how you got there. It shows:
- The network’s name and artwork
- A short description of the network
- A grid of the podcasts that network publishes
Select any podcast in the grid to open its usual podcast page, where you can follow it, browse its episodes, and start playing.
- Tap the Discover tab
- Scroll to the Networks row, which shows each network as round artwork with its name underneath
- Tap a network to open it, or tap Show All to see the full grid of every network
Searching for a network’s name can return the network itself, alongside the usual podcast and episode results. When your search term matches a network, a Networks filter appears with the other filters, so you can narrow the results to networks only.
- Tap the search icon
- Type the network’s name — for example Maximum Fun
- Tap the network in the results, or tap the Networks filter first to hide everything else
When you type a network’s name exactly, that network usually appears at or near the top of your results. Unrelated networks can also turn up further down the list — if the one you want isn’t obvious, use the Networks filter to see just the network results.
If you are already looking at a show that belongs to a network, you can jump straight to the rest of that publisher’s catalog. On the podcast’s page, the author name becomes a link when that podcast belongs to a network — both in the header at the top and in the details further down. Select it to open the network.
If the author name isn’t a link, that podcast isn’t part of a network in Pocket Casts.
On Apple TV, networks are available through Search only. A matching network appears in your search results, and a Networks tab joins the other result tabs when your term matches one. Selecting it opens the network’s description and a grid of its podcasts.
There is no Networks row in Discover on Apple TV. To browse networks rather than search for one, use Pocket Casts on your phone, tablet, or the web player.
Networks in Pocket Casts are a curated selection, not a list of every podcast publisher. Many well-known publishers don’t have a network page, so searching for them returns their shows but no network — this is expected, and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your app or your account.
If the publisher you’re looking for doesn’t have a network page, you can still find everything they make:
- Search for the publisher’s name. Their shows will appear in the podcast results even when there is no network to open.
- Search for a show you already know from that publisher, then check whether the author name on its podcast page is a link.
The list of networks changes over time as new ones are added, so a publisher that has no network page today may get one later.
Opening a network doesn’t follow anything on its own. To keep up with a show, open it from the network’s grid and tap Follow on its podcast page, the same as anywhere else in the app. See Following / Subscribing to Podcasts for more.
