This support article goes over beta testing for the Pocket Casts apps.
Considerations When Joining a Beta Program
- Being part of our beta program(s) will give you early access to new features and fixes. However, this also means that you may come across new issues or bugs earlier
- Beta programs have limited slots available, so you may not be able to join until space opens up
Android Public Beta
You can opt in to the Android public beta through the app’s page on the Google Play Store.
The Google Play Store has more detailed instructions on how you can join and leave a beta program here: Try new Android apps before their official release.
iOS Private Beta
Access to our iOS beta through TestFlight is by invitation only. If you contact us, we can help you check if there’s space available in the program. In your message, please confirm your name and email address.
Desktop Apps
You can download beta versions of the Mac and Windows desktop apps from the following links:
The desktop apps are free to use; some features require a Plus or Patron subscription.
Leaving a Beta Program
You can leave any of our beta programs yourself at any time, there is nothing we need to do on our end. Leaving a beta also stops the beta emails and notifications for that platform (for example, TestFlight emails on iOS). It only removes the beta build, your Pocket Casts account and the regular App Store, Google Play, or desktop version of the app are not affected.
Leaving the iOS TestFlight Beta (stopping TestFlight emails)
To leave the iOS beta and stop receiving TestFlight emails about Pocket Casts:
- Open the TestFlight app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Pocket Casts in your list of apps.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Stop Testing, then confirm.
If you no longer have the TestFlight app installed, you can also open any TestFlight email about Pocket Casts and use the unsubscribe or “Stop Testing” link at the bottom of the message. It can take a few hours for the emails to stop completely. If they continue after that, please contact our support team and we can help.
Leaving the Android Beta
You can leave the Android public beta from the app’s page on the Google Play Store. Google’s guide has step-by-step instructions: Try new Android apps before their official release.
